H.E.A.R.T. (Helping Ease Abuse Related Trauma) for the Foundation for VIP Mental Health Center (Violence Intervention Program)
Based in Los Angeles, H.E.A.R.T. is a source for everything practical that victims of abuse need in order to help them heal. It is run by a group of women who have made the choice to commit whatever resources they can to providing for victimised children in Los Angeles County and the people that are trying to keep them safe. This can be anything from clean clothes, new underwear and shoes, a warm coat, blankets to help keep warm at night, a safe place to sleep, a new pair of glasses, food, a toothbrush and toothpaste, new school supplies so they don’t fall farther behind, all the tangibles that they need to move their lives forward. H.E.A.R.T. is about more than just raising money, it is about creating community – a community of advocates who pool their creative talents to find ways to help victims and families.
