The third Future of Fashion exhibit arrives at Dubai Design Week
Continuing its global mission, our “Future of Fashion: An innovation conversation with Stella McCartney” arrived this week at the eighth annual Dubai Design Week, the Middle East’s leading fair for original and high-quality design. Our outdoor exhibition is open to the public from 8 to 13 November, hosted at the Dubai Design District (d3) waterfront terrace.
Future of Fashion exhibit at Dubai Design Week
This year’s Dubai Design Week theme – “DESIGN WITH IMPACT” – focuses on creating a more sustainable future through fashion, art, design and architecture. In partnership with Chalhoub Group, our travelling exhibit marks the third evolution of “Future of Fashion”, following successful showcases at COP26 in Glasgow and Salone del Mobile in Milan.
We have been using fashion and design to start conscious conversations since day one at Stella. I am so proud to see over 20 years of material innovation brought to life in our Future of Fashion exhibit during Dubai Design Week – from my Frayme Mylo™️ mycelium bag to regenerative cotton, which actually restores Mother Earth. Shaped like my new S-Wave symbol, this travelling installation brings together the most pioneering products from our past and present to inspire a nature-positive future; not only in fashion, but for our planet.
Our exhibit is shaped like our S-Wave – a new heritage symbol embodying our commitments to circularity, material innovation and balance with Mother Earth, while speaking to our future. The space combines cutting-edge fashion and design, inviting the world to discover the limitless possibilities of material innovation in creating a more nature-positive market.
Nestled among a mushroom garden with a sound booth playing music created from fungi, guests can explore our Frayme Mylo™️ bag – the world’s first-ever luxury bag crafted from mycelium, developed in partnership with Bolt Threads. Alongside this pioneering innovation, guests can also discover curated items from our collections and learn more about our vegan, mycelium, regenerated and plant-based material innovations.
All materials from the exhibit will be repurposed for future activities, reducing its environmental impact. Future of Fashion is an evolving installation, with more editions to come soon. Stay tuned.
