The inspiration 

Our Summer Loving capsule originates from a beach dress worn by Stella as a child. Its ‘LOVE YOU’ print is reimagined and brought into the now for High Summer – expressing an affection for timeless fashion and for Mother Earth. 

Its 2023 iteration showcases hearts and pixellated ‘I LOVE YOU’ prints, playfully blending romance with resort. The capsule is a nostalgic wardrobe that captures our Spring 2023 collection’s rechilding spirit. 

The collection 

The ‘Summer Loving’ capsule features a micro heart print on GOTS-certified organic cotton mousseline, grown without using harmful chemicals and using up to 70% less water than conventional cotton. The print is placed on an open-back wrap top, while a cut-out halter-neck dress with an asymmetric bias skirt and flowing wrap dress reference our Summer 2023 runway collection, – capturing an effortless ease and elegance. 

Heart-shaped crochet panels on white textured linen-organic cotton blend lend added femininity to a spaghetti strap beach dress and relaxed shirt-and-shorts set. Continuing the crochet story, organic cotton knits extend to a short beach dresses, open-back tops and flared trousers – each woven with an ‘I LOVE YOU’ pixellated design. 

GOTS-certified organic cotton jersey and denim lends a laid-back insouciance to this resort capsule, elevated by vibrant swimwear consciously crafted from post-consumer recycled nylon. 

The capsule is furthered by new Falabella sunglasses, mini-me ready-to-wear for Stella McCartney Kids and a raffia basket bag – hand-woven by Hadithi basket weavers in Kenya as part of the Ethical Fashion Initiative (EFI) and 100% plant-based. 

Raffia heart bucket bags and a new raffia edition of our Skyla platform sandals connect our ‘Summer Loving’ romantic story, recalling a lifelong love for Mother Earth.
