Our Summer 2020 collection is our most sustainable yet. Because luxury fashion doesn’t have to cost the earth.
Celebrating living in harmony with nature, our Summer 2020 collection is for those who aren’t afraid to make the world their own. For the radical minds with revolutionary ideas, for free spirits, for wild ones. For artists and activists. For the risk takers and the individuals who are redefining the world around us.
At Stella McCartney we have been inspired by plants and the natural world since day one. We’ve never used skins or fur in any products and over the past 20 years we have invested in sourcing viscose from sustainably-managed forests, in organic cotton and traceable alpaca. We’ve stopped over 10 tonnes of nylon going into landfill by using regenerated nylon, and we’ve used sustainably-certified wood.
Working with Amber Valetta, a vocal campaigner for sustainable changes to be made within the fashion industry, the Summer 2020 is a fourth collaboration with photographer Jonny Dufort. Enveloped in a lush living carpet of green, model Amber Valetta embodies everything the collection stands for; luxuriant, brave, defiant and fierce – and our most sustainable to date.
Featuring recycled polyester, organic cotton, Econyl regenerated nylon and entirely cruelty-free. the collection includes the knitted half and half bag – this time with an updated style. Photographic prints of the English countryside, taken by Stella herself, sit on flowing silk dresses, and dynamic stripes are interrupted with delicate embroidered petals.
The collection is testament that long lasting luxurious products can be made while trying our hardest to limit the impact on the earth; and that style doesn’t need to be sacrificed in doing so. Saving the world starts when you get dressed.
